Privacy Policy
The short version
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads nothing from anyone else, and has no forms. It collects nothing about you. If you email or call, that message is held in ordinary business email until it stops being useful.

No cookies. No tracking. No banner.
You are not seeing a cookie consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. This site does not set cookies, does not run analytics, and does not load fonts, pixels, embeds, players or scripts from anybody else — the typefaces are served from this domain along with everything else.
That is verifiable rather than a promise: view the page source, or look at
the response headers for a Set-Cookie that is not there.
Who runs this site
shannon.show is the personal and professional site of Mark Shannon, operated by Martian Creative, LLC, 1325 Second Street, Fairfield, CA 94533. Questions about anything on this page go to mark@shannon.show, which reaches a person.
What is collected, and when
Nothing is collected passively, and there is no form on this site to fill in. The only personal information that ever reaches me is what you deliberately send.
If you read the site
Nothing beyond ordinary web server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which records standard request information — IP address, time, the page requested, the browser user agent — as every web server does. Those logs are Cloudflare's, exist to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and are not used here to build any profile of you. No cookie is set, so nothing follows you between visits or between sites.
If you email or call
Your message, your address or number, and whatever you chose to put in it. Email is held in Google Workspace. It is used to answer you and to do the work we end up discussing. It is not added to any mailing list — there is no mailing list on this site — and it is not shared.
If we end up working together
Client and project records are kept in the business systems of Martian Creative, LLC, and billing, if there is any, is handled by Stripe on Stripe's own pages. No card number ever touches this site. That relationship is covered by whatever we agree in writing at the time; this page covers the website.
What is never collected
- No cookies, first-party or third-party.
- No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, nothing.
- No advertising or retargeting pixels. Nothing about your visit reaches an ad network.
- No third-party fonts, embeds, players, widgets or social buttons that phone home.
- No accounts, no logins, no passwords — there is nothing here to log into.
- No card numbers, ever, on this site.

Your information is not sold, rented, or shared for anyone else's marketing. There is no affiliate arrangement, no data broker and no list swap. The only circumstances in which anything would be disclosed to anyone else are a lawful legal demand, or the need to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long things are kept
- Email correspondence — as long as it is useful for the conversation or the work.
- Client and billing records — as long as tax and accounting obligations require.
- Server logs — per Cloudflare's own retention, which is short.
Your choices and your rights
Email mark@shannon.show and ask, in plain language, for any of the following:
- A copy of what is held about you.
- Correction of anything that is wrong.
- Deletion of your information, subject to records that have to be kept for tax or accounting reasons.
No form and no account required. Depending on where you live you may have these rights under law — under the California Consumer Privacy Act, for example, or the GDPR — but they are offered here to everyone regardless, because the alternative is sorting people by jurisdiction to decide who gets treated properly.
For the avoidance of doubt under California law: personal information is never sold or shared for cross-context behavioural advertising, and there is no "Do Not Sell or Share" link on this site because there is nothing for it to switch off. No sensitive personal information is collected. Nobody is discriminated against for exercising any of the rights above.
Do Not Track
This site does not track you, so a Do Not Track header changes nothing about how it behaves. It is honoured by default and by construction.
Children
This is a professional portfolio. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent information here, email the address above and it will be deleted.
Security, stated honestly
The site is static files with no database, no login and no form handler, which removes most of the ways a website leaks data. What personal information exists sits in email with Google, secured under its own programme. Nobody can promise perfect security and this page will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects you, you will be told.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. In particular, if a contact form, a newsletter or any analytics is ever added to this site, this page gets rewritten before that goes live — not afterwards.
