Forty-three years
in radio.

I have been doing this since I was twelve, on a midnight shift in Mississippi I got by lying about my age. Now I own Power88.FM, host Shannon.Show weekday mornings on it, and build the software the rest of the industry's small stations run when they can't afford a staff to run it for them.

Who this is

Most people in radio software have never had to make a log at four in the afternoon. I have. Every day.

Power88.FM is mine. I own it, I program it, I host the morning show, and when the codec drops at six in the morning I am the person standing at the rack, because there is nobody else.

That is not a hardship story — it is the entire qualification. Everything on this site was built to fix something that was wrong with my own station first. The traffic system exists because ours never delivered a log. The compliance kit exists because the FCC handed a rule to stations with no engineer. The show prep exists because I was opening a Word document at 5am like everybody else.

Small-market radio is not a smaller version of big radio. It is a different job. The tools should know that.
