Terms of Use
The short version
This is a portfolio. Nothing is sold on it, no account is created, and nothing written here is legal, engineering or regulatory advice. Read it, link to it, quote a bit of it with credit. Don't pass the writing off as your own, and don't use the name or the marks to suggest an endorsement that does not exist.

What this site is
shannon.show is the personal and professional portfolio of Mark Shannon, operated by Martian Creative, LLC ("we", "us"), a California limited liability company at 1325 Second Street, Fairfield, CA 94533. It describes a radio show, a body of software work and a career.
Nothing is sold here. There is no cart, no checkout, no account and no subscription. Products described on this site are sold on their own sites, each with its own terms and its own refund policy, and those terms — not these — govern anything you buy. Using this site creates no client relationship, no engagement and no obligation on either side.
Agreement
By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, the remedy is not to use the site. If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the site after that is acceptance of the revised version.
The writing is not advice
Some of what is described here concerns FCC rules, broadcast engineering, station operations and business practice. It is written from experience and it is offered in good faith, and it is general information, not advice. It is not legal advice, not regulatory advice, not engineering advice, and it is not a substitute for a communications attorney, a consulting engineer, or your own reading of the rule as it currently stands.
Rules change, deadlines move, and a Public Notice can land on a Friday. Nothing here creates any attorney-client, engineer-client or consulting relationship. Your station's compliance is your station's responsibility.
Accuracy, and what to do about a mistake
This site is written carefully and it will still be wrong somewhere. Prices, availability, product descriptions, dates and technical details can go out of date between the day they were written and the day you read them, and they are provided without any warranty that they are current or complete.
If you find something wrong, email mark@shannon.show. Corrections get answered before anything else.
What you may do with what is here
All text, layout, code, images and design on this site are © 2026 Martian Creative, LLC, except where something belongs to somebody else and says so.
You may, without asking:
- Read it, print it, and send it to a colleague.
- Link to any page here from anywhere.
- Quote a reasonable extract with attribution and a link back.
Please do not, without written permission:
- Republish a page or a substantial part of one, in any medium.
- Present the writing as your own, or feed it into a product that does.
- Scrape the site systematically, or use automated means that degrade it for other people.
- Use "Mark Shannon", "Shannon.Show", "Power88.FM", "Cartwright", "ShowPrepPro", "StationSites", "Station Compliance" or "Martian Creative", or any logo or mark on this site, in a way that suggests an endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation that does not exist.
Other people's names
Third-party product names, station callsigns and company names appearing on this site are the property of their owners and are used descriptively — to say what a thing is or what it works with. Their appearance here is not a claim of ownership and is not an endorsement in either direction.
The show
Shannon.Show airs on Power88.FM, which is a separate operation with its own terms and its own contest rules. Descriptions of segments on this site are editorial: the show is live, and what actually airs on a given morning is whatever actually airs.
The recurring characters are fiction. Every neighbour, feud, scheme, product and business in those segments is invented. Any resemblance to a real person or a real local business is unintended and, if you spot one, worth telling us about so it can be changed.

Links to other sites are provided because they are useful. We do not control them, are not responsible for what is on them, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.
Availability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. It may be offline, changed or withdrawn at any time without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Martian Creative, LLC and Mark Shannon are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of — or inability to use — this site or anything you read on it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from this site goes to the state or federal courts located in Solano County, California, and both sides consent to that venue.
The rest
If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, that part is severed and the remainder stands. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about this website.
