Most small stations are running WordPress with a commercial radio theme, a page builder and a stack of plugins, and paying somebody a monthly fee to keep it from falling over. Power88.FM was one of them. The replacement is static HTML on a CDN, and the difference is not subtle.

The theme is one codebase, configured per station — not a copy of somebody else’s site with the logo swapped. Forking the build per client is the mistake that kills this kind of business, so the station’s identity lives in a config file and a content folder, and the code stays one thing.

$695 to build, $99 a month. The setup fee is a real fee and not a deposit: it covers the domain, the certificate, provisioning, the build itself and going live, including moving off whatever host is there now. The monthly covers content changes — hours, staff, prices, events, photos, whatever goes stale — hosting, the domain renewal, backups, uptime monitoring, patching, and a person who answers rather than a support form.

Non-station businesses get the same deal at a different price, because there is no template waiting for them and the design comes out of somebody’s head.
